It's all about kids, in recent years we've toyed with different things at the festival, and we've been learning from what you've been telling us. In 2018 we added a larger funfair as people were asking for some thrills, as we were moving to a bigger location. Afterward, however, people didn't like that we added in some thrills, so... here we are in 2019 and we removed the funfair completely. Parent's annoyed that everything was costing money in previous years did this. To our amazement, we have had a couple of parents upset about the lack of funfair. So please read below.
2020 is our 5th Anniversary, a special year for an independent community festival like #LancsFest. We've seen thousands of people come through our gates, and we've worked hard to sustain this event. But things are changing rapidly and we understand that demand changes. So we are welcoming you to #FAMILYSUNDAY a complete day filled with family entertainment, including FREE Giant Bubbl-ology Workshops, INCREDIBLE Fire Shows, Flash Mobs, FREE Circus Workshops, Aerial Performances, FREE Arts & Crafts & more to be confirmed.
A message from the organiser(s):
I, Joshua Holden (Founder/Curator) would like to first thank all of the local businesses, and public who have made this event what it has become. An annual festival for the people of Lancashire. Over the past 4 years I have operated this entire festival myself, with only receiving helping hands on event days and maybe a few days before hand.
For 2020, I have brought in 2 people to help operate the festival with me to ensure it becomes a more sustainable event for the county. I would like to welcome Jonathan and Iggy to the festival management team. We are currently working on the final bit’s of paperwork for 2019’s event, but we are also plotting idea’s and making the wheel turn already for 2020.
We look forward to developing the festival, along with developing our community touches with schools and community groups. (If you would like to get your school or community group involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your ideas)
We, the organisers are now working on funding applications, and are aiming to make the event more accessible to community groups across Lancashire, book more entertainment, support more local businesses and welcome new faces. We aim to incorporate new art installations into the festival, and work with local schools to create a more atmospheric and immersive event.
We would like to thank our supporters over the past four years, and wish you all the very best for 2019.
